19th September 2021

The 3rd and final Radical Challenge endurance race of 2021 was held at Donington Park in September. Alex started the race and made up a few places in the first corner. At the end of the first lap Alex had contact at the last corner causing a spin and damage to the rear wing. Luckily the damage wasn't bad enough to retire but the wing was bent at the wrong angle. There was a red flag a few laps later allowing Alex to take the restart at the back of the pack. He again made up a couple of places before the pit stop handing the car over to Ryan. After all the pit stops and Ryan's pace at the start of the stint they took the lead and held it to the end of the race to win the class.

9th May 2021

This was the second round of the year for the Radical Challenge at Brands Hatch where Ryan shares the driving with Alex Spooner for the endurance race. After some safety car laps at the start Alex managed to make up a few places before the pit stop where Ryan came out in 5th place in class. Ryan had great pace and took 4th place early in his stint and set off closing the gap to the 2nd and 3rd place cars. Ryan was catching at about a second per lap and finished the race just under 2 seconds off the podium for another 4th place in class.

24 April 2021

For 2022 Ryan is coaching Alex Spooner in his Radical SR1. For 3 of the Radical challenge races this year Ryan will be joining Alex to share driving duties in the endurance race. The first round was at Snetterton on the weekend of the 24th April. In race 2 of the SR1 Cup Alex took his first race win in the rookie class in only his second ever race. Later that weekend Ryan and Alex finished 4th in the endurance race.

30 March 2019

Ryan was asked to race for ING Sport in their BMW Z4 GT3 in the first round of the Britcar Endurance Series at Silverstone. After a struggle with tyres Ryan qualified the car P8 overall. Ryan team mate Kevin Clarke started the race and made up some places handing the car over to Ryan half way through the race. Ryan got up to P3 overall and then had an issue with the tyres falling off the cliff so he slipped to P4 overall at the finish. A strong start for a car that hasn't raced for 3 year and is 8 years old compared to the new GT3 cars in the class.

Race 2 started well with the team getting up to 3rd overall before the pitstop and driver change. Ryan again did the second stint racing hard and getting up to P2 overall. With 5 laps to go Ryans tyres again went off so he was defending hard against the McLaren 650S GT3 behind him. After keeping him behind for 3 laps they caught traffic and the McLaren got a run on Ryan down the hanger straight and was able to pass with a superior top speed. Ryan eventually brought the car home in P3 overall achieving a podium finish against new GT3 machinery.

18 November 2018

Ryan raced for Intersport Racing in their BMW M3 in the final round of the Britcar Endurance Series at Brands Hatch on the 17/18 November 2018.

After contact on lap 1 of the first race causing a puncture, after the driver change Ryan raced hard to catch up and was only 3 seconds off the podium at the flag.

Race 2 started well with Ryan starting in P12 overall. He worked his way up through the field and got to P1 overall after 35 minutes of the race. While lapping cars one spun infront of Ryan leaving him with nowhere to go. The small contact left Ryan with a damaged radiator putting him out of the race from what would be been a sure overall victory.

2nd April 2017

Ryan was back racing in the Silverstone 24hrs with Intersport Racing hoping to have better luck then the previous year. After qualifying on pole position and leading the early part of the race again problems struck the team. The problems were quickly fixed and the car was back out on track. Ryan drove well through out the race and had clean stints in the car. It got very difficult during Ryan's night stints when the rain came down heavy and with no lights around the circuit visibility became difficult. Ryan was the fastest car on track during the night as the team pulled back lost time. Eventually finishing 3rd Ryan achieved his 2nd 24hr podium from 3 attempts.

19th June 2016

Ryan competed in the Britcar Endurance Series race at Donington Park. Ryan was racing for ING Sport in their BMW Z4 GT3. This was the first time Ryan had driven the car and he only had 3 laps in qualifying before heading into the race. Ryan's team mate started the race but had a gear issue causing him to pit on lap 1. The team rejoined the race on lap 6 and had a lot of catching up to do! The race was a 3 hour race with 3 drivers. Ryan was the second driver in the car and was quickly on the pace and catching time back. At the end of the race the team finished 5th overall and 3rd in class which was a great result after the problems at the start. They had the pace to fight for the victory as they finished 5 laps behind the winners.

3rd April 2016

Ryan competed in the 24hrs of Silverstone with Intersport Racing in their BMW M3. Qualifying went well with Ryan Qualifying in 1st position in class and 10th overall. The race was off to a good start with the team leading overall at times and leading their class. Unfortunately bad luck struck with some breakages on the car the team lost time fixing the problems in the pits dropping down the order. The team pushed through the problems and managed to bring the car home in 6th place in class after a hard 24hrs. 

5th October 2015

Ryan competed at Spa Francorchamps in round 7 of the Supercar Challenge. This was Ryan's first race in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo that he had tested a few time previously. Ryan did the qualifying and placed 11th overall and 4th in class. Race 1 saw Ryan's team mate start dropping down to 8th in class. Ryan took over the Lamborghini half way into the race and after some changes during the pit stop had the pace to get back up to 4th place in class by the end of the race. Race 2 saw Ryan starting the race optimistic of a shot at the podium. Unfortunately into turn 1 the 3 cars infront of Ryan made contact which collected Ryan damaging the front of the car and putting him out of the race.

 

7th September 2015

Ryan competed in the Barcelona 24hrs with Intersport racing in 2 of their BMW M3's. Unfortunately one of the M3's had an engine failure after 4 hours of the race but luckily Ryan was still able to drive the second car. After 3 clean stints Ryan and his team brought the M3 home in 3rd place in the A3 class achieving a podium finish in Ryan's first 24hr race.

16th August 2015

Ryan competed in the British 24hr Karting race at Teesside Autodrome on the 14th and 15th August. After grabbing 2nd on the grid Ryan and his team came into the race aiming for the win. Following a good start and early hours of the race Ryan and his team built up a lead. After some problems during the night they dropped down to 5th place. The team managed to get back to the lead by the morning. With the kart having problems towards the end of the race the 2nd place team were catching by a couple of seconds a lap. Luckily they held on to win the 24hr race by 2.879 seconds after completing 1046 laps.
